Another Successful Year for BioPartnering North America (BPN)

27 February 2009 – The 7th Annual BioPartnering North America (BPN) Conference produced by Technology Vision Group LLC and hosted by LifeSciences British Columbia, BIOTECanada and BioAlberta, had yet another successful year, providing delegates with a multitude of excellent partnering opportunities. This year a record number of 3,450 partnering meetings were recorded with numerous impromptu meetings. The Conference was attended by over 900 delegates from 551 international biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies representing 30 countries.

Mike Wanner, CEO of Abeome Corporation commented, “We were able to efficiently provide updates to seriously interested potential partners in a rather short amount of time. In addition, I met a number of “surprising” potential collaborators that may end up being very important partners for us in the near future.”

Rich Masino, Director, Business Development of NextPharma Technologies said, “NextPharma Technologies benefited from BPN because it allowed me to listen to key companies and then meet with post-presentations. It is a fantastic way to establish key contacts and expand networking. I highly recommend this conference for building solid relationships in the future.”

The Conference was also brimming with interesting, topical workshops and sessions investigating the key issues addressing the biotechnology industry today.

Marli MacNeil, CEO of BioNova commented, “As always, BPN was an excellent opportunity to learn about the state of the industry, not just in North America but in many other parts of the world. I also had a number of great opportunities to showcase my region’s life science capabilities to a growing international audience. And the incredibly positive vibe throughout the conference was a refreshing boost to my efforts to support my member companies.”
