Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin today announced that AK pharmaceuticals has chosen to locate its new Engineering Centre-of-Excellence on the Cork Airport Business Park in Cork. The centre will service customers throughout the European pharmaceutical industry and create up to 220 new high skilled jobs over the next three years. AK pharmaceuticals provides a range of engineering services from concept through implementation, construction, operation, validation and maintenance for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and is one of the largest companies in this business globally. It will locate a number of key functions in Cork including data storage and processing, software development and training facilities. The Irish facility will have a substantial international function involving 85 high calibre jobs, which has received support from IDA Ireland.
