SOLNA, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aerocrine today announced the appointment of Paul de Potocki to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, Aerocrine AB, effective from February 1, 2007. Paul succeeds Thomas Almesjo who has led the development of Aerocrine since its foundation, and who is now moving on to assignments outside the company.
Paul joins Aerocrine after serving as Senior Vice President, Commercial and Strategic Development at Biovitrum AB, a $740 million biopharma company, and a member of Biovitrum’s executive management team. Prior to joining Biovitrum, he has served as Executive Vice President, Strategic Marketing at Fresenius Kabi, a subsidiary of the German health care group Fresenius AG. Paul has also spent five years at Pharmacia where he held the position of Divisional Vice President, Global Sales and Strategic Marketing, and he has held various international commercial management positions within the Unilever group in Europe. “Aerocrine is entering a new stage of development with accelerated market acceptance of the important role Aerocrine’s nitric oxide monitoring systems may play in asthma management,” said Mats Fischier, chairman of the board. “Paul’s significant industry experience makes him exceptionally qualified to meet the challenges of achieving our goal of bringing Aerocrine’s products to the benefit of patients in international markets.”
