CHESTER, N.J., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Adams Respiratory Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that Peter D. Wentworth, Ph.D, has been appointed executive vice president, human resources, effective Dec. 31, 2006. In this newly created position, he will report directly to David P. Becker, chief financial and administrative officer and treasurer.
Wentworth, 51, was previously vice president, human resources of Pfizer Inc’s $4 billion global consumer healthcare division, until its recent acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. Prior to 2001, he spent 10 years as a human resource executive within various divisions of the former Warner-Lambert Company. Wentworth brings a broad range of experience in strategic organizational design, succession planning and culture management to Adams, as well as executive development and performance management.
Commenting on the appointment, David P. Becker, chief financial and administrative officer and treasurer said, “Over the past three years Adams has evolved into a much stronger company -- both financially and operationally.” Becker added, “At the same time, we’ve been building our infrastructure to keep pace with this exceptional growth. Wentworth received his B.A. degree in psychology from the University of Vermont. He also holds a master’s degree and doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology from Wayne State University.
Wentworth is a member of the Human Resource Planning Society, the Metropolitan New York Association for Applied Psychology, the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. In addition, he serves on the executive committee of The Conference Board’s Council for Divisional Human Resource Executives, and the executive committee of the board of directors for the Morris County Chamber of Commerce in New Jersey.
