In this new position, Dr. Patel assumes responsibility for the companys cost-of-care initiatives and clinical programs, helping to drive overall value and operating capabilities for the organization.

As a central part of Access MediQuips overall market strategy, Patel will lead the companys cost-of-care initiatives which include manufacturer contracting, network development and management, site of care optimization, clinical utilization management and pay-for-performance. Patel will lead all provider and facility initiatives as well as device sourcing and clinical programs focused on the delivery of cost savings for payers and employers and improved clinical outcomes for patients.
Patel joins Access MediQuip from Magellan Health Services, where he served on the executive leadership team as Chief Corporate Development Officer. Reporting to Magellans CEO, Patel led the companys mergers and acquisitions, including ICORE and First Health Services, and other strategic business initiatives. He also led operations at Magellans National Imaging Associates (NIA) where he built out network capabilities, addressed cost-of-care issues and supported product development. Prior to Magellan, Patel held positions as chief executive officer of Imericius Healthcare, managing director of Internet Healthcare Group and served as a vice president of Scheer and Company. He has over 14 years of health care experience, including operations, product development, alliances, acquisitions and strategy.
