Digital health startups are rapidly improving their ability to provide reproductive and other health recommendations for women by gathering data from wearables, sensors and smart medical devices, a panel of women co-founders said Tuesday at TechCrunch Disrupt.
Connected breast pumps — such as Naya Health’s, which recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance as a class 2 medical device — can track behavior and provide insights for new mothers about the optimal time to pump and how lifestyle can impact their milk production, said Redwood City-based Naya Health’s co-founder and CEO Janica Alvarez.
