Welch Allyn debuts a new Connex clinical surveillance system featuring monitoring technology from Masimo, Covidien and EarlySense. Welch Allyn said its new Connex clinical surveillance system includes technology from a pair of rivals in the patient monitoring space, Masimo (NSDQ:MASI) and Covidien (NYSE:COV), as well as EarlySense. The Connex platform, which transmits captured vital sign data directly into the patient's electronic medical record, incorporates Masimo's acoustic respiration technology, Microstream end-tidal carbon dioxide technology from Covidien and EarlySense's contact-free motion, heart rate and respiratory rate monitoring, according to a press release.
