(NYSE: WPI) today confirmed that the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed the district court’s June 16, 2011 denial of Duramed Pharmaceuticals, Inc.'s request for a preliminary injunction to prevent Watson from selling generic SEASONIQUE® (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol (0.15 mg/0.03 mg) and ethinyl estradiol (0.01 mg)). Watson launched Amethia (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol (0.15 mg/0.03 mg) and ethinyl estradiol (0.01 mg)), its generic version of SEASONIQUE®, on July 28, 2011.
Amethia and SEASONIQUE® are indicated for the prevention of pregnancy.
