Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. CFO Slacik Resigns

CORONA, Calif., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: WPI - News), a leading specialty pharmaceutical company, today announced that Charles P. Slacik, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, has resigned effective October 20, 2006, to take the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Beckman Coulter, Inc. Beckman Coulter is a leading global manufacturer of biomedical testing instrument systems and supplies that simplify and automate laboratory processes with annual revenue of approximately $2.4 billion.

R. Todd Joyce, Vice President, Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer, will serve as interim Principal Financial Officer until a permanent replacement is named. The Company has initiated a search for a new Chief Financial Officer.
