Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Appoints Thomas Giordano As Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer

CORONA, Calif., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc., , a leading specialty pharmaceutical company, today announced the appointment of Thomas R. Giordano as Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer. Mr. Giordano will be responsible for all facets of Watson's information technology strategy and operations domestically. Mr. Giordano will report to Allen Chao, Ph.D., Watson's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Giordano joins Watson following the company's acquisition of Andrx Corporation, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer and Chief Project Management Officer. Prior to joining Andrx, he was Senior Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer for Burger King Corporation, a subsidiary of Diageo Plc. He has also held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Racal Data Group and AVEX Electronics.

Mr. Giordano received his undergraduate degree in economics from St. Peter's College in New Jersey, participated in graduate studies at New York University, New York, and completed the Information Systems Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School.
