Vexim, The Specialist In Minimally Invasive Anatomical Restoration Of Vertebral Compression Fractures, Receives €8.8 Million In Funding From OSEO As Leader Of The ILI Project

Toulouse, September 29, 2009 – Vexim, the specialist in medical instruments and the minimally invasive, anatomical treatment of vertebral compression fractures, today announced that it had received €8.8 million in funding from OSEO. The other partners in the Vexim-led ILI project are Biospace Med (a specialist in medical imaging applied to orthopaedics) and the LBM (Laboratory of Biomechanics) through the SERAM (the ENSAM engineering school's contract research company).

The ILI project aims at delivering a totally new and truly effective solution for the treatment of vertebral compression fractures. The package includes (i) an integrated software/imaging system for preparing the operating schedule and providing treatment support, (ii) surgical implants that match the clinical needs identified by the surgeon and (iii) post-treatment analysis and patient follow-up tools.

Out of a total of €8.8 million in funding (€3.5 million as a grant-in-aid and €5.3 million as a repayable advance), €6.1 million will go to Vexim as the ILI project's leader. Project partners Biospace Med and SERAM will receive €2.2 million and €0.5 million, respectively.
