Washington Business Journal -- Chip Clark has left his chief business officer post at Rockville-based Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. to start a new biotech venture, potentially in Montgomery County. After helping launch Vanda as a venture capitalist with CEO Mihael Polymeropoulos in 2002 and then, late last year, signing a deal with Novartis AG to sell Vanda’s newly approved schizophrenia drug, Clark said it was time to strike off on his own. With hopes of joining or founding a new early-stage startup, he said he’s in final stages of discussions to rope in new technologies or drug candidates, though he declined to give details.
