TransOMIC Adopts SnapGene Format

SnapGene Viewer allows transOMIC customers to view sequences and maps

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GSL Biotech and transOMIC technologies announced today that they have collaborated to present transOMIC’s plasmid information in the rich .dna format offered by GSL Biotech’s SnapGene software. transOMIC has been a long-time user of SnapGene for the design and documentation of new plasmids and for sequence analysis. Now transOMIC provides sequences and maps to their customers as .dna files, which can be opened with the free cross-platform SnapGene Viewer. In addition, GSL Biotech provides .dna files for many of the transOMIC plasmids, including CRISPR/Cas9 and shRNA vectors, on snapgene.com.

Dr. Rusla du Breuil, Chief Technology Officer at transOMIC, said: “SnapGene has made it much easier for us to design new plasmids, thanks to its rich visualization and error prevention capabilities. Now we want our customers to see the same convenient maps and annotations, and to discover SnapGene for themselves. We have posted our plasmid files in SnapGene format on our website so that our customers can browse the sequences and maps using SnapGene Viewer.”

Aline Glick, Vice President of Product Management at GSL Biotech, said: “We are thrilled to partner with transOMIC to make their plasmid information accessible to all. transOMIC does a beautiful job of designing cutting edge tools for gene editing and regulation, and it is a pleasure to work with them. SnapGene’s .dna format is becoming the industry standard for viewing plasmid information. I’m delighted that transOMIC adopted SnapGene for their own work, and that they chose our .dna file format to share data with customers.”
