San Antonio-based Prytime Medical Devices Inc. will have a role in the CBS series “Code Black.” The weekly medical drama, starring Rob Lowe, plans to use the local biotech company’s ER-REBOA Catheter — the first such device designed for rapid, temporary hemorrhage control — during a scene in its “Demons and Angels” episode scheduled to air on Wednesday.
“We got a call out of the blue from ‘Code Black,’ and at first we thought it was someone playing a joke on us,” Prytime Medical President and CEO David Spencer told me. “They heard about our device, which is a military success story that is still unfolding.”
