Two scientific teams, to recognized and complementary knowledge, join forces to offer a broad range of preclinical services in conventional and biological containment environments. This association aims to strengthen the internationalization of both organizations, increasing the privileged access of the scientific community to powerful tools for advancing research.
Marcy L’Étoile (France) and Laval (Québec, Canada), September 22, 2015. – The Claude Bourgelat Institute, the research and in vivo preclinical study technical support centre of VetAgro- Sup’s Lyon veterinary campus, and Centre national de biologie expérimentale (CNBE), the in vivo preclinical study support unit of Institut national de recherche scientifique (INRS), signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly develop their knowledge and expertise. This agreement, prompted by the similarities between the two organizations’ university and business operations, will allow the Claude Bourgelat Institute and CNBE to work together at the international level to boost their respective positioning in Europe and North America and jointly develop their in vivo preclinical research knowledge.
Our partnership will lead to a broader, integrated lineup of the kinds of in vivo preclinical services that university research teams and private biotech and pharmaceutical industry companies need to understand or develop treatments in the area of human and animal health. Such services include drug safety, pharmacokinetic and metabolism studies as well as pharmacology studies in fields such as infectiology, vaccine and treatment development, dermatology, allergies, nutrition, and many more, both in conventional and biological containment (levels 2 and 3) environments.
“Thanks to this agreement, the European and North American scientific community will have special access to two partners capable of leveraging the expertise of teachers, researchers, and veterinary and human science experts to accelerate the research and development of new medications and treatments,” said Dr. Guillaume Noël, director of the Claude Bourgelat Institute.
“The partnership between the Claude Bourgelat Institute and CNBE innovates on many levels,” added the director of INRS’s CNBE, Mario C. Filion, PhD. “It will give users access to state-of-theart facilities to conduct their research, unique expertise in a number of fields, and highly qualified staff on both sides of the Atlantic.”
