Steroids and DMARDs Needed in Adult-Onset Still’s

Few patients with adult-onset Still's disease can achieve symptom control with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) alone, a retrospective chart review showed. Only four patients out of 45, all of whom had the systemic subtype of Still's disease rather than the chronic articular form, responded to monotherapy with a nonsteroidal agent, according to Stefano Franchini, MD, and colleagues from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan.
