SpectraCell Laboratories Expands Operations in New Facility

HOUSTON, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc., announced that it has doubled the size of its facilities. Recently, SpectraCell occupied a 20,000 sq. ft. building that was custom designed for them in 2005. The planned expansion added a second freestanding 20,000 sq. ft. building to the existing campus. The new $3.5 million facility houses SpectraCell's state-of-the-art clinical laboratory operations while the existing building maintains corporate, financial, marketing and administrative functions. The expansion was completed in October of this year.

"Our business has grown at a strong pace over the past few years, as physicians are accepting what research has been demonstrating for a long time - that nutritional deficiencies directly impact health and wellness," says William "Chip" Stanberry, SpectraCell's Chairman and CEO. "As more clients incorporate our specialized laboratory tests into their practices, their patient outcomes improve measurably. As a result, the number of tests performed by us each month has skyrocketed. We outgrew our current building in three years."

SpectraCell is a privately-owned enterprise founded in 1993 by William B. ("Chip") Stanberry, who serves as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The company's number of employees has more than doubled since 2005 and SpectraCell now serves over 3,000 physician clients in 38 states. The new SpectraCell building is located at the Oak Park development in the Westchase Business District in southwest Houston.

About SpectraCell Laboratories - SpectraCell is a CLIA accredited laboratory that services healthcare providers nationwide by providing advanced clinical testing with the patented FIA(TM) (Functional Intracellular Analysis) and LPP(TM) (Lipoprotein Particle Profile) tests.

SpectraCell's FIA(TM) testing is an innovative assessment of a patient's nutritional status. Unlike traditional serum, hair and urine tests, SpectraCell's FIA(TM) evaluates how an individual's white blood cells respond to varied environments of over 30 vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. As a result, individual differences in metabolism, age, genetics, health, prescription drug usage, absorption rate and other factors are taken into consideration in determining deficiencies that need to be corrected.

SpectraCell's LPP(TM) tests are the most advanced lipoprotein tests available. Unlike traditional cholesterol tests, SpectraCell's LPP(TM) directly measures the number of several classes of lipoprotein particles providing an accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk.
