South Korean cloning pioneer Hwang Woo-Suk denied fabricating key parts of his landmark research and said new tests would validate his production of patient-specific stem cell lines. Gaunt and unsmiling, Hwang, 52, read a lengthy statement rebutting allegations that he had faked the research before answering questions at a press conference.Hwang said in a study that he had cloned 11 human embryos and cultivated patient-specific stem cell lines from them, a major breakthrough in therapeutic stem cell research.
