PRESS RELEASE:
SAN DIEGO, California - The snapIoT platform is part of a groundbreaking pilot clinical study for adults with mild cognitive impairment
snapIoT, the fastest-growing “Platform as a Service” (PaaS) provider of mobile-connected self-service solutions for clinical trials, announced today that they are working with ClinCloud who is using the snapIoT platform in a study for adults with mild cognitive impairment, specifically memory-related difficulty, and dementia.
Patients, caregivers and clinical trial candidates, along with their medical professionals will utilize snapIoT’s proprietary technology to schedule and conduct virtual pre-screening through the use of snapIoT’s proprietary telemedicine offering. During the patient’s virtual appointment, the patient will consent remotely, which will be stored electronically on a confidential server. The patient and the pre-screener will then communicate with one another via live video. The assessment is conducted by a medical professional during the virtual pre-screening which will determine the patient’s well-being and their potential eligibility for participation in the memory loss clinical study. The snapIoT platform is powering the technology and the data capture for the entire patient experience. Patients, caregivers and medical professionals can participate virtually on their iOS, Android or web-based devices.
“This study is a prime example of the diversity capabilities our technology platform has to offer,” said Isaac Eteminan, CEO of snapIoT. “Interestingly, this telemedicine solution for memory loss patients was implemented in less than two weeks. There is no other platform on the market today that can even come close to this timeline for a customized implementation.”
“We are thrilled because potential memory loss patients and their caregivers do not have to drive to a site location to see if they qualify for the clinical study,” said Jessica Branning, Co-Founder of ClinCloud. “This is lowering the barriers of entry as well as increasing our potential patient pool because study candidates can, schedule, eConsent and pre-screen from the comfort of their own home.”
