Seven New Members Join The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Board Of Directors

DALLAS and FORT WORTH, Texas, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The North Texas chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society welcomes seven new members to the chapter’s fiscal year 2007 Board of Directors. New members will serve a two- year term on the board, beginning July 1, 2006.

New members to the North Texas chapter Board of Directors include Dennis H. Birenbaum, M.D., founder of Texas Hematology/Oncology and Medical Director of McKinney Regional Cancer Center; Christina Anderson, Director of Human Resources for CompUSA, Inc.; Charlotte Collier, retired former Vice President of Marriott Hotels Dallas; Tracy Mitchell, an executive in the consumer product sales industry, who has helped fundraise more than $100,000 for the Society; David Butler, graphic designer for Moving Pictures Editorial; Danny McQuarry, Chief Financial Officer for BMC West and Steve Smith, Attorney for Gardere and Wynn.

Doctor Birenbaum is hosting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s inaugural Light The Night Walk in McKinney, Texas this fall at the new McKinney Regional Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art outpatient cancer treatment facility. Birenbaum has also contributed $15,000 in sponsorship for the upcoming Walk, and secured the role of 2006 Corporate Walk Chair.

Ranked sixth out of 66 chapters nationwide, including offices in Canada, the North Texas chapter is recognized for its outstanding achievements in the areas of Patient Services, Education Programs, Family Support Groups, Information Resources, and world-class fitness and endurance fundraising activities.
