KENILWORTH, N.J., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Schering-Plough Corporation today announced the appointment of Trevor Juniper as general manager, Schering-Plough China, for its pharmaceutical business, based in Shanghai. He will report to Rodney Unsworth, group vice president and president, Asia-Pacific Region.
China has been designated as a key country in Schering-Plough’s strategy of geographic expansion into important emerging markets. The company’s operations in China have been registering rapid sales growth, with second quarter 2006 sales in that country doubling versus the same period in the prior year.
Juniper most recently served as senior director, Regional Marketing, Primary Care, Asia-Pacific Region. In that role, Juniper led the regional implementation of the global marketing strategies for the cardiovascular, allergy and dermatology brands in conjunction with country operations. He also provided leadership to the Schering-Plough/Merck joint venture in Asia- Pacific and other business development initiatives.
Having previously served in country, regional and global positions, Juniper brings a record of experience in both the pharmaceutical and consumer segments. He joined Schering-Plough Pty. Ltd. in 2003 in Australia as director, Primary Care. Before coming to Schering-Plough, Juniper held marketing positions of increasing responsibility in Canada with General Mills, Marion Merrell Dow and Boehringer Ingelheim, and in Australia with the former Pharmacia Corporation. Juniper earned an M.B.A. from York University, Toronto, Canada and holds a B.A. in administrative and commercial studies from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada.
