Manchester, UK (July 16, 2009) RTS Life Science, a worldwide supplier of automated sample management and drug delivery testing systems, today announces that it will host the 3rd in the series of RTS’ sample management workshops designed to benchmark, educate, inform and stimulate discussion on issues facing sample management professionals.
The workshop will take place on Monday 21st September 2009 from 2.30-5.30pm at the IQPC 5th Annual Compound Management & Integrity Conference (CMI) in Philadelphia, September 21-23 2009 and is entitled ‘Do you know what you are Screening?–Techniques and Solutions to Reduce the Impact of Variable Sample Quality’. The session will be led by RTS Life Science Product Manager for Sample Management, Chris Walsh, and will provide participants with the opportunity to benchmark themselves against others in the industry as well as to understand how QC can be built into their day to day workflows, assess the true cost of poor sample quality and learn about accurate tube auditing, using a vision system approach.
The interactive workshop will also provide attendees with the chance to actively discuss the factors affecting sample quality as they apply to automated storage and offer an insight into the new techniques for improving the reliability of samples. With the aim to expand attendee learning in a networking environment, the workshop will also address the key considerations for integrating solutions in an automated system. The anonymous results of an attendee survey will be discussed, giving participants the opportunity to share their experiences and benefit from each others knowledge.
As Compound Management and HTS Groups strive to improve efficiencies and reduce costs, consistent sample quality continues to increase in importance and companies are seeking to develop their understanding of the quality of their stored samples. A wide-range of factors can have a significant impact including environment, temperature, solubility, frequency of access and sealing methodologies. As a result, the ability to protect samples from degradation and establish their volume and concentration in storage is invaluable in determining the value of any generated output.
The RTS sample management workshop has been designed to educate and inform sample management professionals on the issues and challenges they encounter, as well as offering attendees helpful expert solutions to improve their understanding of stored samples and reduce the impact of variable sample quality within their companies. With 25 years’ experience delivering automation solutions, RTS Life Science offers systems and solutions for sample storage and retrieval, sample preparation and testing, screening and blood fractionation.
