Roche Will Sublicense Tamiflu

October 21, 2005 -- At the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, patent protection was more important than inexpensive drugs. But faced with a possible flu epidemic, lawmakers pressured Roche into allowing generic drug makers to produce its flu treatment, Tamiflu.
