Regeneron Pharmaceuticals is in the second phase of a $70 million expansion at its East Greenbush manufacturing plant, a project that can’t be completed soon enough.
The company, which already has 670 employees here, can use the extra production capacity as it seeks to meet demand for its Eylea drug. The drug treats age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness in adults over 60.
