VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ProtoKinetix, Inc. (OTCBB:PKTX) announces further confirmation of AAGP™ effectiveness in the cryopreservation of sensitive cells. Recent tests were completed by ITTEC Stem Inc., of Laval, Quebec, comparing cryopreservation techniques on mouse Embryonic Stem (ES) cells using the standard Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) as a control group against the combination of DMSO with AAGP™. Cell viabilities were evaluated after rapid thawing in a 37°C water bath for 1 to 2-minutes after 2-days of freezing at -80°C. A concentration of 8.6mM AAGP™ significantly increased stem cell viability when added in combination with 10% DMSO.
