By Cynthia M Piccolo (MedHunters) - When you are considering quitting, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Get your family’s buy-in. They will be affected by your decision, and will be a source of financial and emotional support if you end up between jobs.
Unless finances are not a problem, before you quit, have a job lined up, or at the very least, start laying the groundwork for a new job by sending out résumés and networking. You may also want to see whether, where you live, your reason for quitting is one that will allow you to collect unemployment benefits. If you don’t have a job lined up, look at your budget to see if you can reduce your living expenses. And remember: Experts usually suggest having enough money to cover three months worth of living expenses.
Follow the instructions on how to make a graceful exit, e.g., give as much notice as required.
