OptiMedica Corporation Announces Appointment of Greg Anderson as Vice President of Sales

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The OptiMedica(R) Corporation today announced the appointment of Greg Anderson as Vice President of Sales. Anderson will report directly to Mark Forchette, President and CEO of OptiMedica, and will be responsible for all sales activities in the Americas.

Mr. Anderson has more than 21 years of ophthalmic and surgical sales management experience. Prior to OptiMedica, Anderson served as Vice President of U.S. Sales for IntraLase Corporation, a leading U.S. manufacturer of femtosecond laser technology, which is used in LASIK surgery for the correction of vision. (IntraLase, Inc. was acquired by AMO in 2007.) While at IntraLase, Greg managed and directed growth and infrastructure; maximizing sales efforts and market share penetration. Prior to IntraLase, Anderson served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at WaveLight Technologies AG, a German manufacturer of ophthalmic lasers. In this position, he oversaw the successful U.S. introduction of the company’s refractive laser platform. Greg also worked for 16 years at Lumenis/Coherent Medical, an ophthalmic and surgical medical device equipment manufacturer based in Santa Clara, California. While serving as Director of North American Sales, he was responsible for developing the Refractive Business Unit in the U.S. Early in his career, he held a variety of medical and surgical sales positions at companies such as American V. Mueller and Baxter Travenol.
