MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Omnicell, Inc. announced today that Novation, the health care contracting services company for VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), has awarded Omnicell a three-year contract to supply healthcare automation technology to its 2,500 members.
Omnicell was one of only five companies awarded Novation contracts from a field of 27 companies submitting bids.
“Novation awards product agreements to the low best bidder through a comprehensive contracting process using member-driven criteria and a weighted award decisions tool that considers financial and product specification/quality factors,” explained Michael McGiboney, senior product manager for Novation.
The contract covers the full line of Omnicell’ medication-use process and supply chain management products, including Omnicell’s OmniRx(R) medication dispensing cabinets, SafetyMed(TM) RN bar code medication administration system, Anesthesia Workstation, Omnicell PharmacyCentral automated pharmacy storage and retrieval system, SafetyPak(TM) automated medication packaging system, OmniLinkRx(TM) physician order management system, OmniSupplier(R) supply dispensing cabinets, and OptiFlex(TM) open and integrated supply inventory management solutions.
