New research brings promising results for insomnia sufferers and those who are seeking better quality sleep.
HOBOKEN, N.J., /PRNewswire/ -- New research brings promising results for insomnia sufferers and those who are seeking better quality sleep. A peer-reviewed, published registry study shows that supplementing with the natural antioxidant, Robuvit® French oak wood extract, can help improve sleep quality and mood and reduce daytime sleepiness and overall fatigue. Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders2 reported in the U.S. with more than 30 percent3 of Americans experiencing insomnia at some point in their lives. “Insomnia and poor sleep quality lead to grogginess and fatigue along with other health implications such as high blood pressure and depression,” said renowned natural health physician, Dr. Fred Pescatore. “This study adds to a growing body of research into Robuvit® which supports this antioxidant’s benefits for fatigue and healthy detoxification. The antioxidant performance of Robuvit® is shown here to help support a healthy sleep cycle.” The new study, published in Minerva Medica, examined a group of 40 participants who opted into the test group for Robuvit® supplementation or a control group following standard management practices and a healthy lifestyle. Researchers evaluated symptoms of insomnia, fatigue, mood fluctuations and oxidative stress using a combination of scoring scales, including: the Regensburg Insomnia Scale, Fatigue Severity Scale and Brief Mood Introspection Scale (BMIS). Participants supplemented with 300mg of Robuvit® daily for a period of 8 weeks and reported improvement in all four test categories – mood, oxidative stress, fatigue and insomnia (MOFI). Researchers advised each participant to take three capsules per day - one capsule in the morning, at lunch and at dinner. Participants who supplemented with Robuvit® experienced improvements such as:
In addition, researchers found that supplementation with Robuvit® improved oxidative stress levels by 16 percent, while no changes were presented in the control group. Oxidative stress is an imbalance of free radicals and antioxidants in the body and can cause damage to cells. “This research shows encouraging results for patients experiencing negative life impacts from lack of sleep. Improving your sleep cycle affects all your daily activities – your mood, concentration and activity level. Some of my female patients over age of 604 may feel the effects of insomnia due to postmenopausal changes,” said Dr. Pescatore. “Robuvit® can be a good natural option to support healthy sleep and energy.” Robuvit® is a natural super antioxidant derived from French oak wood. This study builds on a body of research examining the benefits of Robuvit® for natural energy and improvement of fatigue. Robuvit® is shown to work on the cellular level by supporting production of metabolites enhancing the function of mitochondria.
