SKOKIE, Ill. – March 23, 2009 – NanoStem Cell, a division of NanoInk, officially launched a new Web page today, www.nanoink.net/NanoStem_about.htm, which is dedicated to providing information and insights on its revolutionary new advancements in stem cell science. This announcement follows the formation of the NanoStem Cell Division in January 2009, which is focused on providing a highly reliable and renewable source of differentiated adult stem cells, through the application of proprietary nanopatterning, using NanoInk’s Dip Pen Nanolithography® (DPN®) technology.
“By using DPN nanopatterning technology, it is now possible to tightly control stem cell differentiation, which involves keeping adult stem cells in an undifferentiated form or inducing differentiation to a homogenous population of a targeted primary cell type,” said Haris Jamil, Vice President of the NanoStem Cell Division. “As a result, we will be able to provide pharmaceutical and biotech companies with access to large and renewable sources of homogeneous populations of differentiated stem cells for drug discovery, drug development and high throughput screening.”
In addition, the NanoStem Cell Division offers solutions to the problems that have limited the utility of adult stem cells in academic and pharmaceutical research. James M.
