New Comprehensive e-Training Course Discusses How to Accurately Interpret TMA Curves

Greifensee, Switzerland—September 4th, 2017—METTLER TOLEDO is pleased to offer its comprehensive e-training course, TMA Curve Interpretation. The live segment will be offered three times on September 27th, 2017, to allow participation from around the globe. The course includes self-paced learning that can be completed at any time. Both the live session and self-paced modules are offered for a one-time course fee of $100.
TMA can be defined as the measurement of a sample’s dimensional changes as a function of temperature. The method provides valuable information for R&D and quality control when applied to a variety of products across a wide range of industries.
Measurement evaluation is often the most difficult part of an analysis. The e-learning tool and webinar will cover crucial issues related to TMA curve interpretation, including the optimization of experiment parameters and use of other thermal analysis techniques to obtain additional insight, particularly when curves appear ambiguous.
Material properties that will be covered in the presentations include glass transition, melting, thermal expansion coefficients, foaming, curing, and intumescence. Examples from different material classes such as polymers, electronics, textiles, glues, and packaging will be presented.
