SAN JUAN - Pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co has finished an expansion of one of its plants in Puerto Rico, allowing the company to triple production at the facility. Merck, based in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, makes the ingredients for medicine to fight high cholesterol at its plant in Barceloneta, which recently completed a US$300 million (euro256 million) expansion.
