MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Twenty-five long-distance runners who benefit from medical technology were announced today as 2009 Global Heroes by the Medtronic Foundation and Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. The honorees hail from the United States, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, and Russia. Each Global Hero will run the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon or Medtronic TC 10 Mile on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2009.
