Medical College of Wisconsin Researchers Studying Cryoablation To Relieve Metastatic Bone Pain in Cancer Patients

Medical College of Wisconsin researchers at Froedtert Hospital are leading one of approximately 15 sites enrolling patients in a nationwide study to compare the effectiveness of cryoablation, a rapid freezing technique, to that of radiation therapy, the established standard of care, for relief of pain from cancer that has spread to the bone. The study is funded in part by the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute.
