FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- MAKO Surgical Corp., a developer of minimally invasive, surgeon-interactive, haptic robotic technology for knee surgery, announced today that Frederic H. Moll, M.D., has been named to the company’s Board of Directors, effective August 24, 2007.
Dr. Moll has over 20 years experience in the medical device industry. Most recently, he co-founded Hansen Medical Inc. in September 2002 and currently serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Director.

Prior to co-founding Hansen Medical Inc., Dr. Moll co-founded Intuitive Surgical Inc., a medical device company, in November 1995 and served as its first Chief Executive Officer and later, its Vice President and Medical Director, until September 2003. In 1989, Dr. Moll co-founded Origin Medsystems, Inc., a medical device company, which later became an operating company within Guidant Corporation, following its acquisition by Eli Lilly in 1992. Dr. Moll served as Medical Director of Guidant’s Surgical Device Division until November 1995.
