Murray Hill, New Jersey, U.S., June 16, 2008 – Linde, a leading supplier of gases and technology to the biotechnology industry, is helping customers around the world improve the quality and performance of their laboratory and manufacturing operations.
Linde, a world-leading gases and engineering company, has a global footprint and years of engineering expertise that enables us to produce and supply gases and technology that meet the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries’ rigorous standards. Linde supplies customers with quantities ranging from large volumes of nitrogen for inerting and purging to small amounts of specialty gases for bench testing.
Visit Linde in booth 3940 at the 2008 BIO International Convention, beginning June 17 at the San Diego, California, Convention Center.
“Linde’s understanding of biotech customers’ strict manufacturing requirements gives them an expert resource who can design and deliver cost-effective solutions that help produce increasingly advanced, higher quality products,” said Leslie Waller, chemicals segment manager, Linde North America.
“Our customers can work with us to identify ways to improve product quality, efficiency and yield with patented technologies for a variety of applications,” Waller said.
These applications include inerting, purging, pH control, fractionation, reaction cooling and volatile organic emission control. Linde also can supply customers with sterile liquid nitrogen at the point of use for such applications as lyophilization, immersion freezing or prilling.
For fast and accurate cooling of heat transfer fluids, the Linde CUMULUS® Fluid Temperature Control technology uses an indirect application of liquid nitrogen, which regulates temperatures within +/- 1ºC. This precise, low-temperature control results in improved reaction selectivity, repeatability, higher quality and yield. The system’s compact design footprint also allows easy retrofit installation and repositioning to other areas of the plant when the process changes.
For air treatment needs, the Linde CIRRUS® Vapor Emission Control system provides a flexible, compact and efficient option for reducing volatile organic compounds and for recovering valuable solvents. Both the CUMULUS and CIRRUS technologies allow nitrogen gas effluent to be reused for purging or inerting throughout the plants.
Linde also helps manufacturers improve their wastewater treatment operations by identifying the correct oxygen supply configurations and determining the proper amounts of carbon dioxide needed to control pH levels in effluent water.
