Life Science Washington Welcomes New Board Chair, Executive Committee Members, and Directors

Executives from Allen Institute, Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason, FUJIFILM SonoSite, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Lyell Immunopharma, and Fenwick & West LLP.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Life Science Washington, the state’s life science trade association, announced the addition of three new board members in 2020, and new leadership on the Executive Committee.

Margaret McCormick, PhD, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason, and Vice President of Research for Virginia Mason Medical Center will serve as Board Chair for 2020-2022. She succeeds Caitlin Cameron, Chair and CEO of OtoNexus Medical Technologies, who will continue to serve on the Executive Committee.

Dr. McCormick has a lengthy and substantive relationship with Life Science Washington. She joined the Life Science Washington Board in 2007, was elected to the Executive Committee in 2008 and served as the Treasurer of the Association for 10 years. Additionally, she served on the Board of the Life Science Washington Institute from its inception in 2017 through June of 2019. She also brings decades of experience in the science and business of biotechnology research to her new role as Life Science Washington Board Chair.

Joining the Life Science Washington Executive Committee are Richard Fabian, President & COO, FUJIFILM SonoSite and Teresa Foy, PhD, Senior Vice President, Immunology-Oncology and Cellular Therapy, Bristol-Myers Squibb. Both currently serve on the Life Science Washington Board.
