Johnson & Johnson, FDA Told to Resolve Dispute

The Bombay high court on Wednesday asked Johnson & Johnson and the Food and Drug Administration to find a solution to their dispute, which had resulted in the closure of the firm’s baby powder facility in Mulund. A division bench of Justice S J Vazifdar and Justice M S Sonak heard the firm’s challenge to the FDA order directing the closure. FDA had alleged that J&J applied ethylene oxide treatment (EtO) to 15 batches of baby powder in 2007, and did not check for residue.
