Almost 40 staff at a Northern Ireland engineering firm have been laid off after administrators were appointed. FIN Engineering Limited was part of the FIN Group, which was incorporated in 1990 and was renamed in 1998, following the acquisition of Nucap Services. The company's headquarters are based on the Saintfield Road, Belfast, with a regional office in Birmingham. The firm specialised in capital investment and maintenance projects for companies throughout the UK and Ireland in the manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, petro-chemical, retail and leisure, education, waste, wastewater and food and drink sectors. High profile clients included several Northern Ireland government departments, Balfour Beatty, Bombardier, BP, Consarc Engineering, Harland & Wolff, Michelin, Montupet and FG Wilson, which also made hundreds of redundancies this year.
