Syracuse, N.Y. (July 22, 2019) - JADAK, a business unit of Novanta Corporation (“Novanta”) will be attending the 71st AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center August 6-8 in Booth #804. There, the company will demo a variety of newly released technology including the Allegro In-Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) 6MP Smart Camera and the HS-1RL Secure Access Handheld Barcode Scanner. Also new for this show will be the Allegro IVD 2MP Smart Camera, ideal for pre-analytical testing on a single vial.
The Allegro IVD 6MP Smart Camera, a machine vision camera designed specifically to complete standard pre-analytical IVD tasks on a rack of vials, is ideal for IVD OEM customers. The Allegro IVD 6MP Smart Camera, along with Clarity 3.0 software, can accurately and precisely detect and screen diagnostic samples in a timely manner, thus eliminating waste by conducting tests on incomplete samples and reducing errors typically caused by manual processes.
The Allegro IVD 6MP Smart Camera includes FPGA capabilities, allowing parallel processing of machine vision tasks and onboard CPU, thus improving the throughput of the IVD analyzer. By capturing a high-quality image and executing multiple algorithms on the FPGA and onboard CPU without an additional processor, it will provide actionable data to the analyzer, improving speed, and reducing the errors and costs associated with manual processes.
The HS-1RL Secure Access Handheld Barcode Scanner is the first product on the market with LF RFID functionality and 1D/2D barcode scanning made specifically for healthcare. The HS-1RL integrates 1D and 2D barcode scanning with RFID proximity card reading functionality in a single, ergonomic, and compact design. This allows clinicians to use their proximity ID badges
for seamless and secure user authentication and access to medical devices while also capturing barcode data, such as patient wristbands or medication information, with a single device.
Additional benefits to healthcare facilities include simplified workflows, time efficiencies, and infection control, since clinicians can quickly scan their ID badge to log into devices, medicine cabinets and ID patients instead of using a password or other methods that can spread infection and add a significant amount of time to the clinician workflow. And since the scanner was designed specifically for healthcare applications, the plastics are durable against sterilization.
In addition, the ThingMagic® 4-port M6e embedded UHF RAIN® RFID reader module will be showcased in an eAglie kiosk. The M6e offers world leading performance, form factor, and time-to-market advantages for OEM customers. It’s designed to the performance standards of full-size readers but is small and efficient enough to be used in mobile applications.
Also newly released, ThingMagic Elara will be in attendance, one of the first plug-and-play, RAIN® RFID Finished Readers on the market. Elara can be used for simplifying integration of RAIN/UHF RFID into mid- and short-range applications.
