Internationally Known Fitness and Wellness Coach Reveals the Real Reason Most New Year’s Resolutions Fail

As the New Year rolls around, many people will be making resolutions—resolutions that typically go nowhere. One of the reasons that most New Year’s resolutions fail, according to internationally known fitness and wellness expert Adita Yrizarry-Lang, is that too much attention is lavished on the goals we set and not enough on the feelings we can experience if we make them a reality.

MIAMI, As the New Year rolls around, many people will be making resolutions—resolutions that typically go nowhere. One of the reasons that most New Year’s resolutions fail, according to internationally known fitness and wellness expert Adita Yrizarry-Lang, is that too much attention is lavished on the goals we set and not enough on the feelings we can experience if we make them a reality.

For example, Adita says if someone wants to lose ten pounds, they should pay more attention to how they would feel if those ten pounds were gone. “Perhaps,” she says, “you would be able to buy new clothing including that gorgeous dress you had your eye on that wasn’t available in your size. And if you lost weight you might also picture yourself having more energy and, with less strain on your joints, being able to move more and accomplish more.”

Adita can share many simple tips for making the most popular resolutions a reality. These tips are found in her new book, SuperPowers, A Busy Woman’s Guide to Health and Happiness; the book is designed to be a guide for nutrition, exercise, relaxation, and happiness for women who multitask and need to fit everything in.

In an interview she can talk about:

  • Getting fit through ordinary movement
  • How women can prioritize their own needs
  • Why cleaning out your pantry is a great way to start the year
  • Why you should add coconut oil to your coffee
  • Ways sugar can place your immune system on snooze
  • Why salt isn’t a terrible thing
  • The plethora of benefits from making tea time a daily priority
  • Why hunger can be thirst in a funky costume
  • What you need to know about the four pillars of health: nutrition, exercise, sleep and happiness
