October 12, 2010 -- Delegates at AusBiotech 2010 will have the chance to attend a series of speaker sessions from influential international biotechnology leaders. Opening the conference is Jim Greenwood, president and CEO of Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the largest biotechnology organisation in the world, which is based in Washington DC. The popular and well-attended Millis Oration will this year be presented by the founding director of Monash University’s Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute, Professor Nadia Rosenthal, who will travel from her base in Rome.
Joining Jim Greenwood and Prof Rosenthal in the exclusive ranks of plenary speakers are:
• Dr David Nicholson, senior vice president of worldwide licensing and knowledge management at Merck;
• Dr Bornadata Bain, global research and analysis director at Datamonitor Healthcare;
• Dr Rob Armstrong, vice president of global external research and development at Eli Lilly and Company;
• Dr John Holaday, managing director and CEO at QRxPharma.
AusBiotech 2010 will be home to world-class sessions and forums presented by over 150 local and international experts in a range of fields.
Following its success last year, AusBiotech 2010 will again be preceded by AusBiotech’s Australasian Life Sciences Investment Summit (ALSIS), an invitation-only, one-day event on 19 October, which showcases the high calibre of investment potential in Australia’s biotechnology industry to international investors. Already 139 investors are registered to attend from 99 companies and 49 of those will travel from overseas. Nineteen US investor companies are sending at least one representative.
The annual AusBiotech national conference, which attracts over 1400 delegates from across the world each year, is renowned for its agenda-setting programs, significant business analysis and world-class Business Matching Program.
