The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) announced today that Michael R. Bond, MA, MBA, has been elected to join IFM’s Board of Directors.
“I am honored and excited to be part of IFM,” said Bond. “Functional Medicine allows the physician to assess and care for the whole patient, not just their presenting symptoms. It has come a long way from just an idea to an idea whose time has come. I am excited to be a part of the future of medicine.”
IFM is undergoing an intentional cycle of board development with an emphasis on adding new members who will help chart the course for the field of Functional Medicine. IFM is in the final year of a five-year strategic plan, and 2020 will mark the beginning of efforts to develop the next strategic plan, with an emphasis on playing an important role in the transformation of healthcare.
“The field of Functional Medicine is growing at a rapid pace, and so is IFM,” said Dr. Joseph E. Pizzorno, IFM’s Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Now, more than ever, it is critically important that we bring a diversity of experience to the IFM Board. The depth of health care, management, and operational experience Mike brings makes him invaluable to our mission of widespread adoption of Functional Medicine.”
“Mike has been a friend and advocate of Functional Medicine for many years,” said Amy R. Mack, CEO of IFM. “He has the expertise to help IFM focus on becoming not only an organization of excellence, but one that can truly be a strategic partner in the transformation of health care.”
The slate of 2020 officers of IFM’s Board of Directors includes Joseph E. Pizzorno, ND (Board Chairman), Terry Cook, CFP, CIMA (Treasurer), and David S. Jones, MD (Secretary). To view all the members of IFM’s Board of Directors, please click here.
