HemaCare Corp. Announces New Blood Services Contracts

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - January 25, 2010) -

HemaCare Corporation (OTCBB: HEMA) today announced new blood service agreements with Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, and Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine, to provide mobile blood collection services and other supplementary blood product services. These programs are part of HemaCare’s new value-added service model that provides customized blood collection and supply programs for partner hospitals. The hospital-branded programs are unique in the industry by offering direct access to local donors for the benefit of hospitals and their patients. Benefits include fresher blood, improved blood type mix and lower cost. HemaCare operates twelve similar blood donor programs for hospitals in Southern California and Maine.

Commenting on the new agreements, John Doumitt, HemaCare’s CEO, stated, “We are very pleased to add Good Samaritan Hospital and Mercy Hospital to our growing list of full-service accounts. It is gratifying to see our service model gaining acceptance in an increasingly competitive blood products market. We believe this is due to a growing realization among hospitals that HemaCare’s program offers superior control of their own blood supply.”
