FORMER chief executive officer at Roche Pharmaceuticals, William (Bill) Burns, has been confirmed as event chair for a popular two-day life sciences conference that is set to sell-out for the fourth year in a row.
Pharma Integrates is taking place on 17-18 November at the Grange City Hotel, London and will once again see a number of high profile industry leaders discuss key topics, issues and advances in the drug development and supply sector.
Organised by Life Sciences Index, the event will see over 70 impressive speakers and moderators alongside a further 250 senior executives attending from a wide range of global pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms including AstraZeneca, GSK, Pfizer, Sanofi and Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
Bill has worked within life science organisations for his entire career and retired from Roche Pharmaceuticals in 2014. He now serves on the board of five healthcare companies and advises panels such as the Institute of Cancer Research in London.
Chair Bill Burns said: “I am honoured and very much looking forward to being the headline speaker at this year’s Pharma Integrates. The major theme this year is about integration, which is a pivotal issue in our industry right now.
“Other agenda items at the conference will include breakthrough content and what this means for the sector. Business models, supply chain issues, outsourcing, funding and Pharmergence are also key talking points.
“There are a number of well known and respected leaders with interesting backgrounds speaking this year, which will allow life science executives to stay current and connect even further with the industry.”
Aside from speakers, the two-day conference sponsored by the likes of Catalent Pharma Solutions, Pfizer and Patheon encompasses an online networking tool to facilitate meetings, a supplier exhibition, lively panel discussions and Q&A sessions with some of the biggest names in the industry.
Samuel Thangiah, co-founder at Life Sciences Index said: “We’re looking forward to the 2015 conference and we have worked hard to organise an exciting agenda to surpass last year’s event.
“This year will also see an influx of emerging biotechnology companies that will join those from big pharma, specialty pharmaceutical and the contract services sector, so it will make for an exciting conference with great networking opportunities.
“We are proud that we are now championing the global pharmaceutical industry right here in London every year, which is allowing leaders to debate key topics that shape pharma’s future.”
Life Science Index launched in 2011 and is a specialist provider of events designed for pharmaceutical executives to network, stay current on topical issues and provides continuous professional development.
Building on the success of previous years, Pharma Integrates will see delegates from industry, academia, big pharma, start up firms and associated business sectors. The conference also includes a champagne reception at the end of the first day.
