GenTel BioSciences, Inc. Announces it has Obtained an Exclusive Global License from PriTest(R)

MADISON, WI— Gentel® Biosciences, a protein microarray life sciences company, announces it has obtained an exclusive global license from PriTest® that continues the expansion of Gentel’s strategic intellectual properties covering nitrocellulose for protein microarray applications. The license to US Patent #6,861,251, covering arrays using a translucent nitrocellulose surface, builds on Gentel’s position as the acknowledged leader in protein microarrays.

“Pritest has worked hard to create innovative testing products that make a positive difference in fighting the world’s most devastating diseases like Tuberculosis. We are delighted to have Gentel as a partner”, says Chris Rathe, Co-Founder and CEO of Pritest.

The advantages of Gentel’s accumulated intellectual property around nitrocellulose surface chemistry are substantial, as it offers unparalleled sensitivity and dynamic range for protein microarray applications.

“The acquisition of this additional intellectual property means we can continue to push the limits of protein microarray technology for years to come”, says G. Randall Durnell, VP, Commercial Operations of Gentel.

Gentel supplies its Protein Microarray Slides to a number of industry leading OEM partners, in addition to researchers who create their own content-based protein arrays. Gentel also uses the proprietary ultra-thin nitrocellulose surface chemistry in the APiX™ Cancer Biomarker Array Kit and in its Sample Testing and Custom Services businesses.
