Called Inceptis, the venture plans to license medical technologies from universities and inventors. After further developing the devices, it plans to sell them to other companies.
Inceptis aims to raise between $10 million and $14 million in capital to support the effort.
The venture is led by Daniel Sigg, a former Medtronic (NYSE: MDT) research manager and ex-CEO of NanoCor Therapeutics, and Devicix, an Eden Prairie-based contract design and manufacturing business.
