BRUSSELS, May 24 (Reuters) - German drugs and chemicals group Bayer (BAYG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research) won approval from the European Commission on Wednesday for its bid to buy rival Schering (SCHG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research), valued at 16.5 billion euros ($21.2 billion) when made in April.
