Dolomite Launches New Electro-Osmotic Pumps for Fast and Easy Integration Into Microfluidic Systems

Royston, UK (29th November 2012) – In collaboration with Osmotex, Dolomite, a world leader in microfluidic design and manufacture, has launched a new range of advanced Electro-osmotic Pumps (EO Pumps) which can significantly reduce the influence of electrochemistry and bubble formation in microfluidic systems compared to conventional EO pumps.

As part of Dolomite’s new OEM modules and components, the compact low power pumps are extremely small in size, ideal for easy integration into custom systems and portable instruments where space is at a premium. The range includes two EO Pump Cores, Basic and Bubble Free, as well as an EO Pump Open Interface with 1/4 - 28 outlet offering increased user flexibility.

Operating over a wide flow range from 5µl/min to 150µl/min the microfluidic devices can be used with a number of fluids, such as DI water, ionic solutions and alcohols, benefiting a broad range of industries and applications including consumer electronics, medical instruments, fuel cells and microfluidic experimentations.

Dolomite also offers customized solutions for higher flow rates and pressure and can assist with the integration of cores into custom designed holders. In the future, Dolomite will be providing self-priming EO Pumps as well as solutions with flow-sensor feedback control using its Mitos Flow Sensor range.
