Atlanta Business Chronicle -- Continental Airlines Inc. President Jeff Smisek told Dow Jones News Service Wednesday the carrier plans to join the United Airlines Corp.-led Star Alliance of air carriers by late October, within days after its pairing with Sky Team ends.
